Werewolf

Werewolves can be encountered in either a humanoid or full wolf form. They may be a normal human that has been cursed and occasionally thereafter transforms into a monster, classically at the full moon. This unfortunate may be unaware of his curse or detest his fate. They may also be of a type that fully glories in their transformations, and has more control over the metamorphoses. Ravenous and savage attacks, much like the classical mad dog or the rabid human are typical of both.

Werewolves apparently propagate by transmitting a transformational agent through the saliva while biting.
In bestial form the werewolf is notoriously resistant to injury, regenerating damage. Scars and welts of such damage may remain after the ravener reassumes human form. Such healing is weakening, often forcing the shape changer to spend days in bed. Werewolves are immune to most weapons, but they can be damaged or killed by fire or by silver weapons that impale. In fact, silver, the lunar metal, is poisonous to the werewolf.
